Headlight restoration for e46
My headlights are slightly fogged and I've used a couple of different kits, does anyone have any tips or tricks to restoring my headlights? I'm looking for something more effective

If the 3M kit doesn't work to restore them you might as well replace the entire lens.

Because the damage on the lenses is usually purely superficial, they can be restored to an as-new clarity with minimum time and effort with the headlights still on the vehicle. If the lights are pitted, they will have to be sanded. But if they are just dull, hazy and yellow, surface polishing will restore clarity.
Headlight Kits Be cognizant that some 'headlight restoration kits' use fillers (Kaolin clay) to 'mask' as opposed to an abrasive that will remove lens surface problems "Headlight Restoration" - http://www.autopia.org/forum/autopia...ml#post1506615 Last edited by TOGWT; 09-26-2012 at 04:23 AM. |

Why not just get replacement headlight lenses?? They're like $60 a pair, shipped! Brand spankin' new Bosch lenses.

Occasionally there can be some moisture trapped inside the lens but usually the cloudy appearance comes from exterior. We have several headlight restoration articles with pictures on our Ask A Pro Blog. Each one highlights a slightly different process but all of them are pretty cost effective and simple ways to fix the lights or make a huge improvement. Take a few minutes to look over some of those articles and I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have.
