Autobody Builders is a good paint shop ?

I want to have the black plastic trim on my car painted to match body color, like a coupe.
If I buy a full set of pieces, they will paint is properly and install the bits ?

Have you had work done there ?

thanks,
kj

I love the idea of this thread, I just wish more people pitched in.

I know if you're gonna get insurance to cover damage then go to precision auto body in reseda, by far the best auto-body but WAY to expensive.

I need an audio place to install a DICE ipod integration unit.

I also need someone to fix my bumper, the csl splitters I ordered don't line up right on one side because the bumper is a little warped underneath... got any ideas?

My somewhat new go-to shop for mechanical stuff. (They installed my suspension and wheels and did my alignment.) EXCELLENT pricing.

Honestly, the DICE install is probably one of the easiest installs you can do to your car (next to installing signal housings, lol). I'd definitely recommend a DIY on that one.

I looked at the DIY and the wiring and everything looks fine it's just running the cable from the trunk through to the cabin is where I want someone who is used to doing it to make it look as clean and stock as possible.

I also recommend Fab @ EF1 motorsports for suspension, alignment etc. etc. Very reliable and customer friendly. I also recommend JP autosound on Harbor blvd.for my audio. They are very fair and do great work! Talk to Jimmy or John. I haven't had too much body work done so I would be of no help there, but this should suffice.

Name of shop: EF1 Motorsports (ask for Fabrizio) 562.424.3378
Location of shop: Signal Hill, Ca
Region: So Cal
What they do: Suspension, Alignment, rims, tires (Tirerack authorized)

Name of shop: JP Autosound (ask for Jimmy or John) 714.979.9229
Location of shop: Huntington? or Costa Mesa? Anyway, off Harbor Blvd., Ca
Region: So Cal
What they do: Audio installs/You name it

Anyone got places in the SF valley? or LA area?

I'm going with autobody builders to heat up and re-mold my bumper so I can fit the csl splitters on. He quoted me 50 bucks, not bad, just hope the work is precise.

Still looking for someone to install my DICE integration unit, I actually don't have it yet as I'm debating between HD radio or not, but one place told me 3 hours of labor at $80 an hour = $260 just for installation. That's more than the damn unit.

i just got back from the bodyshop to check on the progress..

i can honestly say that im amazed with the work/pricing of this stuff.. they mostly do older cars and ive heard they have had a lot of return customers!

the paint ive seen looks awesome. they also gave me the "super thick clear coat" option which is near what a clearbra would do for an extra 250.

not mines not gonna be done till tuesday. lets just say i payed much under 2k that includes carbon black full repaint(my car is jet black)super thick clear/molded front ACS add on/ Molded rear ACS add on. (which they are filling the reflector holes for free) i have a huuuge dent on one side (2 ft diameter.. and a bunch of little dents that they already fixed and filled. 5 year warranty. super nice guys too.

here are some progress pictures

im not even worried about how its going to look just because i saw a few other cars there with awesome work and detail.
SORRY IF I JACKED THIS THREAD!!
