Which knob is that? I was told to put the car in KM, you need to connect it to one of the computer tools through the OBD port. To my knowledge, the knob just changes temp from US to Canadian...that's about it.

My understanding is that the digital display portion of US clusters can be toggled back and forth between metric and imperial units with a button on the cluster. Canadian clusters (or at least the one in the car I bought in Canada) can not be switched from metric to imperial units with such a button.
A 'BMW Scanner 4.0' tool will let you switch the units of the digital display, even if you cannot make such a switch with the cluster button. |
