Cup holder in a euro tray

I was wondering if anyone have bought this and placed it in a euro tray? I just ordered my euro tray and while waiting, I'm searching if there is a way to have a clean cupholder with the euro tray.

Doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose of the euro tray?

well no because it is retractable rather than having the cup holders always there. I can put it in when I need it and put in in the door panel storage when not in use.

You don't need anything in there, the tray itself is perfectly suited for holding drinks and bottles - put it in and then close the lid as far as it can go, the bottle is totally steady. Even works with the smallest (250ml) Red Bull can.

How about doing it how S2000's have it? Can't really explain it but if you seen it you know what I'm talking about.

I just bought one and it is on it's way to me this week, as stated above. The question, if you have a eurotray is to possibly have you check if the cupholder fits in the euro tray.

A family member of mine has a 2007 Civic and I love the cupholder set up. It's basically a roll top euro tray but it has cupholders inside. I would love to have the same thing in my e46.

That's what I'm trying to achieve. Doing the impossible. I don't want a permanent cupholders, but rather a deployable one.

As for the Eurotray, I want to machine some aluminum inserts for it that make a cupholder slot without taking up much room, or maybe makes half of it a cup holder and the rest a sliding storage area.

I looked at that as an option and rejected it. In my E46, you are not invited in if you have a need for a cup holder, and that goes for the driver. However, in the my E30 I discovered a great solution that works well (for the E46). Buy a regular car cup holder in the appropriate color, cut off the back so that you have a flat clean surface, add a large (ie 3 x 5 inch) strip of Velcro on the back and on to passenger side of the console --works great, looks fine, does not interfere with passenger knee room.
