Exclamation Turbo kit vs Supercharger

This is for my daily at the moment but when I install this kit it will be we'll rested I have a stock e46 2001 325ci 5(sp) but need some help debating what to get to get more power to the wheels and eventually turn into track car.

What kind of track, drag or road racing? For road racing I'd think that a supercharger would be better simply because you wouldn't have to deal with a surge of power when the turbo spools at an inconvenient time in a corner... For drag racing, whatever gets you the most power. Also, if this is for your daily (assuming you want to legally pass smog checks) you'll have to find whatever is CARB legal. I'm not sure there are a lot of options for non-Ms if you want to do that...

Unless you're desperate to create as much power as possible, go with a supercharger. Tons of vendors with a variety of kits (and benefits), along with the reliability of power, ease of use (no real lag), and access to knowledge bases (theres only one company in Florida that has a turbo kit and you'll have to deal with the headaches of finding a quality shop that can do the install).

Actually engine swap might give you best bang for the buck. You could probably find healthy M54B30 for $1500. It's only 40hp but significant torque gains.
