Yellow line paint splatter
There were wet yellow paint lines in the road, and I accidently went over one on a turn. Paint splattered all over the skirt of the car. What should I do to remove it??

Okay, thanks. Didn't know if it would come off that easy.

May have to use something like Bug and Tar Remover if the normal wash doesn't get it all off.

First instinct after drinking poison should be self-induced vomit not tweet and ask on a forum about it.

Depends on what can't be removed with a pressure washer. I'm sure it's pretty strong stuff if its meant to bond to asphalt. A trip to the body shop might be in your near future

Were you not supposed to be on the road? If it wasn't marked or anything, you can get the city to pay for the paint work if necessary.

I agree with Zell, it should have been coned off or if two lanes one closed. Thats how they always do it around here any how. But you should be able to get it off with some work. Maybe a 3M eraser wheel in a power drill fallowed by some polishing if it has bonded to the paint.

I had this happen to my TT years ago. I tried to clean it up and it didn't work.
I called PennDOT, explained the situation, and they sent me a certificate to have my car detailed. I couldn't believe it. Might be worth a shot. |

I did the same thing a long time ago. Polishing compound took it off the already-waxed paint (if you don't have any handy, a cleaner-wax combination would be a good low-abrasive substitute). For some reason, though, it didn't work as well on the black rubber bumper or the fender liners.

did you try to remove it immediately? if you're quick about it might be able to clean it off with relative ease...before paint hardens.
Also if you havn't washed your car lately the grime and dirt underneath the paint might be good enough to have it clean off. |

Sprayed it, let it sit on there for about 10 minutes and it took it right off. Then I washed the rest of my car because I had a clean stripe down the side of my car.
