17" M68 Stanced on E46??
Anyone ever tried this?? I'm sure someone has?
I have a spare set of M68's hanging around in OEM sizes - 17x8 and 17x8.5 im pretty sure. They have (i think) 235/45 or something on them currently.. what are the skinniest/stretched tyres anyone has tried on them with keeping it safe and not going overboard? and what size spacers have you run to get it looking nice and stanced? Any pics would be great!! Cheers Steve |

Talked with one of my "stance" gurus. 195/40/17 would be safe on both those wheels and give you a good bit of stretch, the 8.5 wheel will be slightly more aggressive. Check out tyrestretch.com to give you an idea of how some tires sizes look on different wheel size combinations
As for how much of a spacer, that's going to depend on how aggressive you want to go. Best bet is to put them on, and eyeball about how far out you want the wheel pushed out and go from there.

I suggest extended lugs with any spacer. Some guys choose to run stock lugs with small spacers (2-5mm) but at 10mm you need extended lugs. Your stock lugs will not have enough threading to properly secure the wheel to the hub.

Buy a 90mm lug conversion kit and go at it. The fronts are 7.5, rears are 8.5. I did 205's up front & 215's in the back with 20mm spacers all around and slightly rolled fenders and never had issues. Your going to have to find out what look you want and how low you want to go. If you want to stance and poke, spend money on some better/wider wheels. 8.5's with a 195 and -3.5 camber out back looks stupid as fvck, like your riding on motorcycle tires.

DJ Nekkon had a massive thread on this. It was about M68s and spacers.
