making a 325ci in to and m3

Well guys this is my process in to making a 325ci 2001 in to ad m3 , is still a work in progress what do think???

FIRST THIS IS THE CAR THAT I BOUGHT a 325ci 2001





first modification the m3 bumper



Makind the side wider like the m3 ones with fiber glass









atatching the m3 bumper with the wider sides





side vent grills





hood scoud





so thats the process for the moment they are still working on the hood and in the back fenders to made them wider, next is to chance the exahaust in to a two muffler like the m3 and adapting the m3 back bumper.
also painting all the car again.
oi want to buy the m6 wheels i think the car looks better than the m3 ones
i will put more pictures of the process_a_

I am down with Pretension...this is up there with a Honda Civic with a fart can muffler and air plane wing on the trunk!


You need to finish it off with a dozen made in China M3 badges

At first I was like oh here we go again but I was surprised to see the fender flares being done.

Now pleaaaase understand it won't be an m3, it will be a look alike. Unless you want to change out the entire interior , cluster, engine, suspension, subframe, exhaust, rear bumper, door sills, door mirrors, and whatever else I forgot.

See, you can dress a man up like a woman, put some makeup and a wig on him and he may actually be able to pass for a woman. That's what you're doing. It may look KIND OF like an M3, but the hardware that really makes the real difference (the engine) hasn't changed. And when you see it next to the real deal you'll know something's not quite right.

You're making a cross dresser.

Now kudos to the work you've done and all that jazz. My post is meant to be taken lightheartedly, although I do believe the comparison is accurate.

Even if you get it to look exactly like an M3 and swap over every component that's different it's not an M3 and you'd never be able to sell it as one. And by that point you will have probably spent enough to buy an M3. So you'd have something kind of like an M3, but worth nowhere near as much. Makes no sense from a financial standpoint.

And if you're just doing the exterior well then it just makes you a poser. There's no denying that. But good luck and I hope it turns out well.

Not an M3, not even close. Start talking when you drop an S54, different area axle ratio, M3 control arms, M3 suspension, M3 Exhaust, cluster, toss in a convertible or m3 subframe, tail lights, hood, ect. You are trying to polish a turd. You should hang your head in same for even posting that you are turning your budget BMW into an M3. Don't forget the type R badge. I think the Honda forums want you back, because that's where all the other posers hang out at.

hard to tell but it looks like its coming along fairly nicely.

i'm not sure how much body labor costs where you live but i would think buying a used M3 hood, fenders and bumper might have been better route.
i know the fitment and quality would be perfect

*edit, i see now you're in Costa Rica and imagine labor is cheaped than those parts as i'm sure not many M3s there.
well it's your project and I say go for it as where you live not many examples.

I don't get it either. If I ever wanted to attempt to make my 325 like an m3, I'd sell it and buy an M3, looks is nothing IMHO.

To me it is a complete waste of time, effort & money. Just buy a 120K+ mileage '01 M3, dump 3k into maintenance and call it a day.

Should've gone for a legit M3 hood at the least. The hood has fairly different lines. More importantly, the M3 hood is lighter (aluminum)

Better yet, you should've bought a real m3. A lot more fun to drive
