I don't know what a dido is, but I'm sure you thought your comment was clever at the time.

To the fake M3. I kind of dig it. And had the OP just said he was adding a wide-body kit rather than saying he was replicating an M3, he would have gotten a lot less crap from all the holier-than-thou purists -- all of whom would never put an MTech II bumper or CSL rims on a 325.

M3 has a good look. I see no problem faking it as long as it's cheap to do(which is not).
It's when someone takes a $5000 323ci and spend $3000 on top to make it look like M3 that makes it stupid.

whats so hard to understand this point? what hes doing is a lot better then paying 11 thousand on TOP of the cost of an m3.

from the OP...

Well guys OK let me explain.. I live in Costa Rica here the government charges a lot of taxes for the import of cars
(that's why we have a shitty fleet of cars ) For example i bought this 325ci in co-part for $3200 and i paid $5500 of taxes to let the car come in to the country

If i bought and m3 i would not payed $5500 it would been $11000 or more...

On the bright side here manual labor is cheap so all the modification
that are being done are around $1800

do you people not understand the labor-parts trade off in a country like Costa Rica? Maybe an M3 would cost much much more than 3000 dollars that he is spending. Maybe his preferences are an M3 look. I would say let him do the best he can on his constraits. If it makes him happy, what is your freakin problem?

Iwas not planing to , it may look like and m3 but the engine is not so it will still have the 325 ci on the back.
i just like the look of the m3 thats the point of this transformation , maybe on wendsday they will finish the car i will put photos of the end result.

And for all the negative people what i have to say is that live and let the others live , i made this thread to share and experience of making something diferent and elaborate .

I went to costa rica earlier this year and there roads/traffic suck!! Imagine a 4 lane highway with no paint to mark the lanes and everyone driving like their in a NASCAR race, that's how it was. Thankfully my tour guide was driving.

Lol they are great things of costa rica, like the nature, the beaches, the surf, the girls....but the roads and the taxes are none. ..

i dont understand why there are negative comments about this project. if you change your 325ci to m3 we all know and the op knows is not the same as an m3, i would say its more unique than an m3. so if you don't have something nice to say my suggestion is to zip it.

people say poser, it's never going to be an m3, all because they are jealous or mad cause you will fool them all when your project is done, they will not be able to tell it's not an m3 when you drive by or till you pop the hood.

Heaven forbid people give their oppinion on a public forum... freedom of speech be damned.

Before I said I didn't get it, now I sort of get it, but I still think it's stupid... if you're going to do it fine, first transplant the heart, then worry about the plastic surgery

hold on there now, I was all with you until you said this. believe me when I say I can absolutely spot an E46 made to look like an M3. there are many details and body lines unique to the M3.

but i look forward and hope the OPs project turns out well
