2 iPad 3s with 64GB wifi only.

Use it a lot. Portability and instant on are very addictive. Don't like the Air cuz it's too hard to open up the screen.

Surprised I'm enjoying it so much. I held out for so long cuz I never saw the point of a tablet. Not with a laptop and iPhone already. But, for a very limited set of circumstances, it is the best choice. If you have the funds, it's nice to own. If you're debating between this and a laptop or smartphone, I still think it should be bought last.

That's because the iPad is a bigger tablet and therefore has a bigger battery.

So you get what you pay for. Performance is performance.

If by "performance" you mean "how long it can sit on a table unused" then yes.

Used iPad's are $430 (and not even LTE!) . But then I looked, fack, all tablets are ridiculously priced .

I've been doing research to compare speeds, capabilities, and battery life.

But, there's nothing like hearing it from the horse's mouth. At least I think that's how the saying goes. So I figured I'd just ask your opinions!

I've been seeing a lot of older people with iPads. Basically they use them as you would a computer. They don't have to sit at a desk and they can take it with them when traveling. It's customizable. YOu can get a refurbish for $50 less than the new one. Or go to Microcenter and get one for $50 less than Apple.

Looking over their warrantee, it seems that there is an accidental damage coverage. Maybe that's why they cost around $500? Stop being cheap and get your parents an iPad. Add a keyboard and you have a computer.

Ipad 2, ipad 3, HP touchpad, and recently sold my 7" Samsung Galaxy. 7" tablet is too small, rarely used it, sold it to my sis in law for $100. Got the 32GB for $150. Main reason, I got it was b/c it was cheap. It has a nice user interface but pretty useless besides that, no apps. All tablets are pretty useless, I am on my laptop now. I used the Ipad 2 a lot more b/c it has a bluetooth keyboard. Only have the iPad 3 b/c my wife won it at a raffle. My iPad 2, I got from my employer, both iPad's are used by my kids.

Do you already have a share everything plan op?

If you're getting a tablet for your parents, I would go iPad definitely. Unless they'd like having a pressure sensing screen with stylus for writing, then the new galaxy tab 10.1 would be nice. I briefly considered it for taking notes at school, but no way with the price.

Nexus 7 is a lot of bang for the buck.

I'm a big advocate of Apple products and own an iPad 2, however, they cost a lot for what they are. I've tried the Nexus 7 and was very impressed with the new OS, which was extremely fast. The 7" size is just right in my opinion. Sometimes I feel my iPad is just to cumbersome. Not to mention the Nexus 7 is literally 50% the price of a iPad.

However, if this is for your parents. You should probably just get an iPad since its the most user friendly device.

Bought a touch pad and it collected dust. I had a laptop and a pc and thought it was just a toy. Laptop died and forced me to use it and now it's all I use.

Basically the lightweight does it for me.

May buy a different tablet down the road or a ultra book but for now the old $100 special gets the job done well.
