03 m3 smg 77k recon title price
What do you think a good price for a 03 m3 smg with 77k and a recon title should be.
Here a pic. Don't have a ton of info on the car but I can get more. Guy wants to sell quick so I was offering something pretty low but a recon title scares me. With no other previous owner info on the car? |

I think that should be a talk between you, your mechanic, and your bank account.

I honestly was going to offer around 2-4k that's its just because of the lack of history and the recon title. I'm taking a risk I think either way could cost big if smg goes out or anything like that happens.

Honestly that's the cash I have right now I just spent 10k on my cummins. I told him if you want to sell quick that's what I have.
We will see what happens. He's going to take it to a dealer to see how much they are going to give him first. I honestly think they are going to give him around the same price I'm offering because of the title. What are your guys opinions on what a dealer might offer. $2,000 for an E46 M3? Why would there ever be any reason not to make that deal? Even at 4k, you could make a lot of profit parting it out. Or turn around and sell it for what people would actually pay for it... there's people out there that don't care what title it has, as long as it looks cool, has a BMW badge, and runs, someone WILL buy it for 10k+
IMO, this is a no-brainer at that price.

So if I bought it just for a flip I could get an easy 10k out of the car the way it sits?

Ya pretty close probably but it takes time and patience and also a willing part but a interior part out would get you around 2k more then likely...
Steering wheel-200 Rear view-200 Trim-200 Seats(condition)-2-500 Shifter-50 Center console-1-200 Radio-(depending model) 200 + Heater unit-100-200 Door panels- But sounds like a steal, I don't see it happening up hey good luck |

Yeah dude. 2 years ago, I sold an 01 325ci for $9000 with a few cosmetic mods, rebuilt title, plenty mech. and cosmetic problems, 130,000 miles. This car is an M3... The BMW badge + the M badge is pure gold when selling to newbs/kids. If you want to make money, you have to realize not all people are enthusiasts and will buy a car if it runs and looks alright. It may take a while to find a buyer, but one will come. Lots of people out there that don't research what they're buying.
Edit: If it doesn't sell, just spend the time to part it out yourself. The engine alone would net you more than you will have paid for the car.

But if I got it for 2-4k and sold it with in a week for 8-10k that's a pretty good profit.
We will see what happens I'm not to excited about it but you never know. |

Check your state's regulations on reselling vehicles with recon titles. Also remember, "if it's too good to be true, it usually isn't." The car might have other issues.
If you can get it for a great price and flip it, good. If you're mechanically inclined and keep it good. If you can't perform general maintenance, keep walking . . .

Don't count on being able to get $10K for the car on a flip. There is no escaping the fact that it has a salvage title, which makes it highly undesirable. No legitimate new car dealer would pay money for such a car (selling a salvage title car could have a huge negative impact on their business reputation, so even if they took such a car in on trade, it would be to auction off or strip for parts), so you are looking at used car emporiums that will also have a hard time reselling for any serious money.
