I'm in north jersey never been a delivery guy but my buddies get paid like 4/hr which is ridiculous but during Super Bowl time they usually get great tips.

Deepens if my dogs bark at him or he smells like chronic....

10-20% of total order... depends on how he approaches my door.

I also tip the cable/internet guy.

$20 the first time, your pizza will quick/hot and atleast $4-5 or 10-20% whichever is greater.

Had one delivery guy that had a lowered blue WRX on white Volks, gave him a good tip and told him it was for his mod budget.

i deliver and totally understand how it all works. in the end, you make a lot.
there's bad days where you barely make more than you spend in gas. but the good days more than make up for it.
average tip- $2:50ish
average order price- $9
average deliveries per hour- about 4

drivers normally make what a waiter will make as well.

i don't get pissed getting a 1 dollar tip. i figure i'm getting more than what's expected for doing my job.
i do however get pissed when people are stupid as all hell.
i had an order the other day for $52 even. guy gave me two twenties, a ten, and three singles. this comes out to $53 for all you math lovers.
he then proceeded to ask for change.
WTF?! i gave him his dollar back.

in this instance, i don't mind NOT getting tipped on an order that was just down the street, despite me waiting for the dude for 5 minutes. but i do mind that he wasted my time with him needing to be a moron.

I don't like delivery pizza. I either need to go get the pizza from the pizza place (and eat it there, while it's still lava-hot) or I just go downscale with a Papa Murphy's take-and-bake. Either way, the key for me is that the pizza has to be super hot. Once it cools off, it's dead to me.

Most pizza places now have a delivery fee between $1 and $2. Fee goes straight to driver.

Not my problem that he chose a job that requires the unreimbursed use of his personal car in order to work.

I also don't feel the need to offset his higher insurance premiums or his more frequent oil changes.

WTF do you know about the price of a pizza? It costs more than $1.35 to make a pizza, especially with food prices sky-high right now. Most pizza places are small time deals that are family owned and consist of their owners busting ass for 80+ hours to make ends meet. Hardly what I would call cheap asses.

Not to mention, the driver most likely doesn't own the place. Your argument between the cost of a pizza and the driver's wage is crap.

you must be a cheap A-hole to even start this thread, whats the big deal of paying 2-3bucks for some delivery service, the delivery person already making nearly minimum wage. And if you have a problem with it then go pick it up yourself.

I tend to tip as much as I would if I were tipping a waiter/waitress. 15%-20% of the bill.
