FS: MAXX/Bimmerworld CSL carbon airbox

Hi All,
Reluctantly placing my MAXX Automotive CSL carbon fiber airbox for sale. I'm still a bit torn about selling because I love the piece so much but I would be willing to let it go for the right price.

I picked this beauty up a few months ago from a German importer on another site. It was brand new at the time.

There is little info out there for this rare piece but I was able to gather the following in my research:
-120mm intake opening
-100% carbon fiber
-carbon fiber trumpets
-does not have internal bracing but is very high quality carbon
-does not accept an internal filter, the entire unit is sealed and an external filter must be used (K&N cone filter will be included)
-is designed to retain the stock MAF but can be tuned to run without one of course
-will run with the stock MAF (just need to extend the wires) and no tune (how I ran it)

This is the same piece sold by Bimmerworld and Goke for $3,100. Bimmerworld calls it the "Street/Race (HFM)."

This is truly a high quality airbox. Top visible carbon fiber is in beautiful condition. There are a few small scratches/chips (100% cosmetic) on the underside of the box where no one can see from my install.

I feel like I sorted out all of the install headaches and can walk the buyer through it. To make life easier I will include the modified top vent hose and also my modified dipstick tube. I have a 6 speed, you will need additional parts for an SMG and I'm not familiar with those details.

It goes without saying that the sound is unbelievable. Given what people are getting for Delage units nowadays, and I consider this a superior piece, I'll do $1,650 shipped in the US. Not many options out there if you want to retain your MAF and get that CSL sound. You don't need to run a tune with this piece, but don't expect any gains without one. The decent internal filtered replica CSL boxes are around 3k and then require a tune for another 1k. This will get you the sound for half the price.

Also, for those who do want to run a MAFless tune and take full advantage of the design, all you would need to do it plug up the MAF port and you're good (leaving the unused MAF housing in there would do it). The only other person I know of running this airbox is using Bimmerworld's Epic Alpha-N tune.

A frequent question I get is if I have a sound clip. I don't, but here is a clip from someone with the same airbox (albeit with an internal filter but the same 120mm opening so it should sound the same). http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showt...post1065109227

Some nice exhaust noise in there as well but you can really hear the awesome induction sound this piece gives you.

If only i had the funds!!.. If this is still around within the next month you will have a serious buyer!glws, in the meantime.
