radio options 2000 323ci nav hk HELP
the screen is broken on the radio and theres no ipod connector so im looking for a replacement scenario. dont want to spend 800 on a dynavin but willing to look at other options. any recommendations as to what would be best? there NO double to single din adapter anywhere or wire harness so it seems that a double din bezel, aftermarket radio and bypassing the factory audio system is the only other option. Any input??

Not trying to be rude, but could you be a little more.... specific.... and speak (type) more clearly. I'm not too sure what you said. Would love to help, but I need to know first exactly what you are trying to say and ask.

Do they make a double to single din for e46 coupe with nav and Harmon kardon
Is there a wire harness for a replacement for a unit with hk and nav. I don't care about the nav at all and prefer to just remove the unit |

Is your current double din nav the factory one? Either way, if you have a double din that means that your a/c controls are where the sunglass compartment used to be. If you want to go back to single din, all you would have to do is buy the single din kit from metra/scosche/best kits/ or american international and then relocate your a/c controls underneath your single din, and reinstall the sunglass compartment where the a/c controls are now. They all sell the single din kit for about $12. If you want to use the hk factory amp, with an aftermarket deck, you will have to get the amp integration harness, it has rca's instead of speaker wires. Metra has that as well.
Once you go to a single din aftermarket setup, you have almost an infinite number of options. Yes you can find a nav ready single din. Usually they are flip out screens ( 7 inch) and cover your a/c vents, so most people don't opt for those. But like you said, nav isn't a huge must, so pick a deck that suits your needs and get to it. |

The ac controls are down towards the shifter just north of the ash tray. You can relocate the ac controls?

Yes sir. They snap right into the dash right below your single din unit. Easy squeezy.

Hopefully relocating the ac unit is that easy
