Nice job on the DINAN TB pickup Charlie. I am already looking ahead in 2015, might have some big changes coming soon ESS?? . But first I should probably put the winter tires on as the temps have dropped into the 30's here. I won't let my Michelin PSS take another winter beating like they did last year.

Those silicone tubes are SICK and will go so nicely with that DINAN TB!

It's really too bad it costs like $600-800 for a good custom tune, especially since it's done as custom and is not easily reversible like the shark if you run into issues. But then again the shark tune is hardly custom. I am just speaking from quotes I got from Brentuning. I'd love to see how my car would act/change with a custom tune due to my AFE intake, UUC TSE3 and maybe even underdrive pulleys. Don't forget that custom tune accounts for 93 octane too. And I often wondered if I would be in trouble when I go to Maine for the summer as they only have 91 up there, been seeing a few far and between with 93 octane, but from what I understand, if you put 91 octane in a car that is tuned to 93, you will have immediate issues and it will run like chit.

Confirm? And who is this Frank Smith guy you speak of?

$600-800 for a tune is not that bad, most tunes I see are over $1k. And if you have a good tuner, they would save out your stock mapping. That's easily reversible.

True, but that is a lot of coin to pay for something that alters your car's computer, which could potentially lead to issues (maybe) and if it does, you're basically screwed until you can get the car back to the person who performed the custom tune. If there was an easy way to remove a custom tune so the car would go back to normal and you could get your a$$ back to the tuner with time to spare, then I'd be down in an instant! I really think that is what is holding me back, oh, and the fact that I am at 202,000 miles right now, and it's -5 degrees outside

Bonus for Chuck because he can just toss the ZHP into the garage and take the ///M! Unless there is snow

Chuck, I'd love to see the Dinan Throttle Body next to the OE one for comparison. What exactly is different about the Dinan one compared to stock? Next time I see you, you will leave and go home only to look under your hood and see BLACK intake tubes

ok, so if the inside was widened, does that also mean that the outside was a little bit too, so you would need a different intake boot to slide over the outside of the throttle body? Or does the existing one fit enough with a little stretch? I have trouble figuring out how this can translate to more power since even though you are widening the inside a bit, the rest of the intake manifold does not change.. seems so minimal of a change to me to do anything. But it must because I've seen Dinan's power graphs after this was installed..

it's just a Big Bore Throttle body. we use to do this all the time on the E30s. i have even used the machine shop that makes them for Dinan. what the machine shop does is bore the center out more and also makes a new larger throttle plate to fit the wider area (in this case with Dinan logo) and also tapers the center arm(shaft) where the new plates screws onto. so it's flowing a tad more air than it did at it's original throttle opening. the only overall gain is at WOT where what it was restricted to previously by it's bore it now has a larger bore and flow.

Looking goof Charlie. You need to get both cars tuned by Frank soon. You'll be amazed at the new found power potential you'll get. You did forget something on your "future mods" list. ESS remember?
