[VIC] WTB: E 46 aux input

Hey guys,
As im on the hunt for a sound system for my 2001 e 46, I need something to pass the time for now.

I have the original BMW Monitor screen, if this helps and was wondering if anyone had anything to help solve my problem, eg Dice silverduo or so forth

Thanks for your time,
Pete

thats what I was thinking

Thought my only option would be to use the c.d stacker as the input jack for the aux, Ive heard people do?

^ yes, it's possible. I did that when I had a tape deck HU and it worked reasonably well although of course I lost the use of my CD stacker. There is a way to build in a switch to use either the stacker or your aux, but I could not have been bothered at that time to wire it up. It was fun to DIY and I did it all using bits that I harvested from old PC hardware that I had available.

If you're interested, I have a Connects2 iPod input that takes over your CD stacker port on the HU. I used it only very briefly and no longer have an iPod so no use to me. It is not an aux input so no 3.5mm connector. It has an idevice connector only.

PM me if you're interested

do you mean the connects2 ipod thing? It's super easy, either pull out your HU and wire it in from there or pull out your stacker and do it there (less messy at the back, but you have to run the cord all the way to the front again). just unplug the stacker plug and plug in the ipod interface.

the aux kit that they sell for later models is pretty straight forward too, i did one on an X5 which is identical AFAIK - pull out the unit, plug it in, then run the wire to the glove box

i have one of these and did it myself from the boot, then ran the wire to the front. it's great, or at least it was until the iphone5 came out and now i can't plug it in.
