Unhappy Dynavin V5 dead what now!?

So I bought a V5 Win CE unit less than two years ago, now it appears that it stopped working and I see only disturbance on the screen at all modes and white screen on NAVI, no sound nothing...Just wondering does dynavin or someone repairs those or can I get a new motherboard for my unit since I spent over $850 for it and I drive my M3 only on weekends.Or maybe I should get a new one for another $850 so hopefully it lasts another 2 years.

yep two years is about the lifespan of most things made in china, rip it out,buy another unit and try to pay as little money as possible for the next one, that way you wont feel so bad when it craps out in eighteen months time,i mean look at it this way,how else are you going to keep the chinese economy moving forward and millions of chinese in rice, mobile phones and dodgy cars

I was hoping that Dynavin will send me a new motherboard or take it for repair but I have no response to any of my e-mails!

Good to see these long term reliability reviews.

Dynavin wont deal with your directly, you need to contact the dealer you bought it from for assistance, thats a relatively old unit so im not sure how part availability will be.....

As I believe I answered your questions about this on another thread....it sounds to me like the most likely cause of your issue is the ribbon cable that connects the face is either loose or damaged. If thats the case its an easy fix, just open it up and take a look (8 screws).

Jeff I appreciate your prompt response.I opened the unit and checked the flat cable and all other connections seem to be fine.I was hoping to find the ROM file and try that reflash because I'm suspecting that my unit failed right after I installed a win ce patch to make it work as a desktop. After that the system started throwing messages for memory not enough and relocating some memory use advice or something.Since then the unit started going blank or white screen. Is the ROM reflash possible on the win ce units or only android? Also if going the new D99 android road what's the estimate wait on those?

Understand that the WinCE part of the unit is completly separate from the radio hardware....the "patch" stuff you did could have screwed up the winCE stuff but thats just the nav side of the unit, it doesnt touch the radio hardware. Although unrelated to the winCE stuff there is an outside possibility that the radio firmware is somehow fouled up, (never seen it before, but who knows).....and that can be reinstalled, email me about it and ill email you the files but dont get your hopes up.
