My baby's gone :(
After 10 years and 153,000 miles (193,000 miles total on the ODO) it was time to say goodbye to my baby. Yesterday I traded her in for a 2013 Hyundai Accent
.I just wanted to say thanks to everyone on the forum. I went from only knowing how to change my oil to being fearless at doing a OFHG change, vanos rebuild, complete cooling system overhaul, front end suspension replacement, brake/rotor/fluid swaps, and much more. Y'all saved me thousands of dollars through the detailed DIYs and quick responses to questions. The e46 community is wonderful, and I'm glad I was part of it. Neil |

I might be right behind you!!! Sad thing as like me. We did all this work for the next owner. Prob nothing will go wrong for another 100,000 miles.

Congrats. How much did they give you on the trade? Just be careful about Hyundai/Kia warranty. Save ALL receipts as they alway try to weasle out of a warranty repair.

I got $2000 for the trade, about $200 less than the target I was after based on KBB/NADA/Edmunds/etc. They originally offered $1700 and I LOLed at them. My baby had one accident on the Carfax which hurts, plus with 193,000 miles there's quite the mileage hit. Worked the dealer like crazy on the Accent price though, I got the car for $1000 less than invoice before any cash incentives were thrown in.
The Accent was actually my choice and will be my daily driver. I commute 52 miles round trip every day in stop and go traffic. While the BMW was fun on weekends, working that clutch in traffic twice a day, every day, sucks ass. I got the hatchback in all black. It actually looks much nicer than the sedan version, and is plenty fun to drive. It isn't a 325i, sure, but it's still fun. Thanks for the tip on receipts, Gonzo. I'll keep that in mind! ![]() Actually those 2013 Elantras all now come well equipped. Still not many people can say they just traded in their 12 year old car for a new car. BMWs are truly one of a kind. Goold luck on your new car OP!

I recall you had a post on fouled plugs here recently.
Did you find out if your ccv, or hg caused the problem? Sorry you're leaving BMW community.

Yup, that was me. The CCV is so new, and based on what others said, it was unlikely the cause. The fouled plugs were the deciding factor to get a different car. I could keep spending time trying to chase down the problem, or I could use my time for other fun things.
