Question Connect angel eyes to fog lights?

Hello everyone. I got blue angel eyes for my E46 few months ago, and because of the colour i've been having problems with police, even got defected 3 weeks ago. To avoid this problem in future i want to be able to switch my angel eyes on and off indepenently to low beam lights. The best idea I could come up with is to connect them to fog lights switch, because i like my fogs on as well. Has anyone done it before?

PS. did some research couldn't find any clear explanation...(

So i just strip fog light wires and connect positive to positive, negative to negative without disconnecting fog light, then put some tape to isolate them? would it have enough woltage to run both lights(AE+fog light) off the same wire?

PS. really bad with electronics, haven't done much before, but want to learn...

Yeah, got them as a present, but will probably change them to orange or white at some point... Blue on orange looks a bit... Japanese to me

You know if your fog lights are on when they aren't needed you will get fined for that anyway?? If I were you I'd create a separate kill switch for them in the car if you really wanted to run them...or just wait and get normal ones and install them the normal way?

Well, if I wire them up to fog lights I can turn them both on/off when needed, cuz they are both illegal apparently, so I'll probably do that. Got too many fines ATM and I'm still at school, so can't afford any mods ATM...(

Might be a better idea like DesiredM said to make a separate switch control your ae's... That is unless you plan to not have foglights anymore... And in the process you can give me the plastic covers that belong around the foggies.

This would be perfect for you if you had a CSL front.

From what i've found separate switches are pretty complicated to make. I'd definitely do it if i knew how to.

I was planning on leaving fogs as well, and turn fog light and ae's from the same button, just don't know if it's gonna work (

What is the "separate" switch you f4gs are talking about??

That's what his trying to achieve.. Using the fog light button as the AE on/off switch..
??
Why would you need ANOTHER switch?

It's better to create a separate switch just for the AEs so that everytime he wants his AEs on he doesn't have to have the fogs on!

And since the AEs are blue you want to be able to turn them off when you see police without turning off your headlights..

I think being able to wire them up to some form of power source (fogs) but then using them on a separate switch... ie. the fogs can still be turned on/off and the AEs are not affected by this cause they are on their own switch kind of thing

If it were me i'd just change them to normal AE's and call it a day

Yes it will work fine, i did this when I had my CSL bumper, because no fog lights.

You will have to switch on your corner running lights to get the fogs/AE's to come on though.
