Can you have ASC without ABS?

Hey guys,

Seen 2 cars recently with ASC button, light is always off, when you press the button it does nothing.
The other has a ASC button too, but light is always on, when you press the button nothing happens either.

But I am confused none of those cars have an ABS module. Around the brake booster I only see 2 pipes (Yeah the cars are RHD). ASC modules are normally part of the ABS module too, on a different brick.

Those 2 cars both have ASC buttons, but no ABS modules, even though I am able to read faults on the ABS module.

I am confused, could anyone shed some light?

Error I am getting on the ABS module is:
93/FF - CAN DME/DDE message not plausible

IKE message for the one that has the light always on.
No CAN message (ASC3)

I can disable the light in the IKE, but then if those cars do not have ASC/ABS from factory, why would they have ASC buttons?

Both cars were made around 2000-2001 and my diag also shows they have the ABS/ASC MK20 module.

Any help much appreciated.

Well, it seems like they must have ABS if you are reading the ABS module. Even with ABS, there are only two pipes from the master cylinder. They will run down to the ABS hydraulic unit, and out of it will come four pipes, one for each wheel.

I don't think it's possible. Stability Control is built directly into the ABS modules. In fact, it's essentially an extension of existing ABS components. The magic is in the software
