That's fair.. Everything else works but the HDMI board apparently crapped out. I would just use it for optical and plug the HDMI directly into the TV but, one of the main selling points of this unit, is that it upconverts video signals.... so the HDMI board is "supposed" to be awesome in that it makes things look better... but apparently it's also prone to failure

I feel like a total ahole for suggesting that receiver. I have had the 1021-K for 2 and a bit years now and haven't had even the smallest issue with it. I am sorry.
