Apple iPhone 4 Restore Help

Need some help with an iPhone guys. It's a jailbroken iPhone 4 currently running on iOS 5.0.1. I recently factory unlocked so all I'm trying to do is restore it in order it make the unlock an official feature of the phone. I could care less about the jailbroken features. I just need to restore so that I get the "your device is now unlocked" message. I have used both redsn0w and iReb/TinyUmbrella to put the phone into pwned DFU mode and then restore from iTunes but after some progress it always fails with the 1600 error.

So I know a couple of you guys are quite familiar with Apple and iPhone configuration, so I could really use any support I can get. Really appreciate it.

BTW, I'm in Lebanon for the time being, so I don't have the luxury of walking into an Apple store for some "genius" help.

You don't need to restore, just put in a different sim and connect to iTunes

Just put the phone into the regular dfu mode and then restore and update
