Yes, anyone can become a Seal, as long as they meet the prerequisites for BUD/s. They don't have superpowers, they aren't magical beings.

It takes an internal drive and a "cast or tab" mentality, as well as physical and mental toughness that are acquired through training and preparation.

But no, it does not require any superhuman traits.

Yes, it means they are above average in certain aspects. It does not make them an expert, or above average, in the area of psychology. Just like it doesn't make them an expert accountant, or expert architect just by the fact that they were a Seal.

If say 500 people would try out to become a seal how many would be able to make the seals ?

are these 500 people that have been well-prepared? Or 500 joes off the street?

What kind of numbers does SOCOM need right now? Do they need 500 people? Do they need 2?

And are you just asking about the people that graduate BUD/s? Or the people that make it all the way through and become team members?

I"m sure they go through some, but if it were between Jessie Ventura (being a Seal) and The American Psychological Association (APA) which is comprised of actual psychologists, I would side with the APA.

Military training, at least early on, is more about obedience than education. So, yes
