thank You. just took my exam last month and waiting on the official swearing in ceremony.

beside...I and most legal alliens in this country can still vote under the democrat policy of not verifying voting elligibility. I know a few co-workers (non us citizens) that voted in last year election. It was that easy and simple. no ID...no verification...no proof of citizenship.

no wonder the democrats don't want to fix the voting systems.

Congrats on your future citizenship. I highly recommend educating yourself on the issues you plan to vote on.

Clinton...Africa Embassies Bombing....launched a few tomahawk cruises missiles in Sudan and Afghanistan. He had a chance to kill Osama but opted not to send in Special Ops. Instead he used a standoff weapon such as the Tomahawk

Obama....how did he responded? did do anything except appear on talk shows and interact with hollywood celebs for re-election

wait....

Clinton...Bosnia and Kosovo....didn't do anything except established no fly zones. KFOR and SFOR was only possible after republicans demanded boots on the ground to stop the ethnic cleansing. SecDef fired Gen Welsey Clark (Republican) for speaking against the administration hestiation to commit ground forces.

Regan responded brillantly after all of those terrorist attacks. He set up the "line of death" off the Libyan cost and destroyed any libyans fighter jets who dared to cross the line. He used a bunch of F-111 statione in the UK and Germany to attacked Tripolli and almost killed Muammar Gaddafi. The us jets had to fly around France cuz the frenchy wouldn't let us used their airspace. all that extra time flying around the meditterian sea made us missed our chance of killing Gaddafi
Reagan pulled out of Lebanon after those attacks. And Lockerbie was in retaliation for Reagan' actions towards Libya.

do you know why this F-14 Tomcat is displayed permantely at the Regan Presidential Library?

yes....for this amazing president actions and responds to Libya aggressions. Libya was the invisible hand in the majority of the attacks during Ronald Regan time in office.

oh yeah...Regan (replubican) rescue those embassy workers in Terhan, Iran after Carter (Democrats) failed to win their freedom. another example how democrats are only good at catering to the poor (social safety nets) but are horrible at countering threats that are a clear and present danager to our national security

I always chuckle when current Republicans wave Reagan around as he is still relevant to current Republicans. If Reagan were alive today and doing the same things he did in the early 80's, the current Republican party would paint him as some pinko socialist idiot. Same thing goes for Ayn Rand, for that matter, lol.

Edit: why am I responding to a crazy cat lady thread

Can someone start a new thread on this topic? This is actually worth discussing outside of the partisan bickering.

I find this thread full of lols.

OP, you can google US history all you want and slant facts to confirm your own biases. But I find it laughable that you think you know anything about foreign policy, diplomacy, strategy, military, and national security matters. But for guys like me and member bedfast that have some experience, you sure put on an entertaining thread.

Nothing wrong with having an opinion on the subject, but its the way you go about it that gets you put in the hot seat.

I recommend some reading for you that will give you insight, context, and why decisions were made. Remember, hindsight is 20/20:

Honorable Treachery: A History of US Intelligence by GJA O'Toole.

Ghost Wars by Steve Coll

Confront & Conceal by David Sanger.

Nice try...it's been more than that. Try 7 years in the Marines, w/ three tours to the Middle East. And that's not all. Combine that with government experience both as a contractor and a government civil servant. Should I mention my other overseas experience in the diplomatic community not military related?

Please go on, this is fun. Just goes to show you the varied backgrounds of people on here.
