Bootlid handle does not work?

Hey guys!

The button onthe handle doesnt work, nor does the license plate light :/

I can open the lid with the button on the key, so the motor works. Has anyone had the same problem?

Thought i'd check in with you before i start tearing my car down to pieces

Thanks!

Look inside the rubber hose connecting your bootlid to car body. Inside are a dozen wires that break from the folding stress; once they break they start shorting and causing the problems you describe.

My guess is the wiring as stated above, or that your key lock on the trunk itself is horizontal. It will disable the buttons when it is flat. That means that the only way in is with a real key or a fob. Keeps the valets out.
