Quick! Should I buy these or not?

My neighbor wants to sell me some Rockford fosgate subs in a ma audio box, and a pioneer 760 watt amp.
He's only asking 100$. Should I buy them? I know nothing about audio.
Also, if any of y'all have installed subs and an amp how much do places charge? Can it be done to your stock radio?

Amp is garbage, but subs are decent. A bill isnt a bad price. Would buy and look to replace amp eventually.

It can be done to your stock radio, yes, by tapping the signal from rear deck speakers, and the remote turn for your stock amp. There are write ups & a google search will find you the info. For 100 dollars that doesn't look like a bad deal.
The install is pretty straight forward and easy.

Texas, if you're asking random Internet people what you should do, I'll say "no," and I have many good reasons for my no.

There are times I can see down the road in life...like 'see' the future...and I'm sorry, but I'm seeing a little drip of something under your hood that makes me think oil filter housing gasket or PS reservoir hose leak. It's 95% it's one or the other.

Once I see past the Mississippi, things get a little blurry.

We'll come up with a number of very cool projects for your car and you'll be glad you did them much more than an awesome sub.

If you don't trust me, just read a lot of my posts...'cept the ones with beagles or Furries mentioned!

lol dmax. Actually my $100 spent on 2 subs and an amp/capacitor has been one of my favorite mods yet, along with updated stereo/satellite module.

Ha.

Well, Brinkley, you've been here a lot longer than OP, so I know you knew to face Munich and pray in your bmw shrine for guidance and wisdom.

You coming to the weekly Bentley reading, Brinkley. This week should be good--I think it's the section on removing seats. The guys really love that section.

Also, btw, your left front tire is off 1/4 pound from the one on the right...that's why it's been tugging a little on you. (It's a gift, what can I say?)

Darn it! I've been facing Cleveland when praying for my ride. Guess I shouldn't have cheaped out on the Chilton's guide.

For your '99, if the vin begins with W, think that's Munich. Doublecheck that, but you really need to face the proper direction or it doesn't work.

Have you already done the Fanatic's mark--forming a roundel on upper arm with Techron and igniting it. Have an ice pack nearby...it's really not that bad at all.

Very much no. I used to have subs, etc in my first E46. I later realized it was ghetto and removed it. Adding a bunch of weight and electrical load to your vehicle is counter-intuitive to what BMW is about. The only thing you should have in your trunk is duct tape, scissors, a hammer, and some clothes line clamps (or as D calls them, Nip Clamps).

DmAx, why don't you show the forum your trunk? Yeah.. show them your r*pe kit!!

Are you supposed to do that on yourself, or just anyone's arm?

First, I have to say that despite Mango's inferences, I'm not into kinky sex at all. If I had to describe what it's like being with me, I'd say intense and passionate...maybe a bit of "hmmm? That was interesting."

Settle down ladies!

Brinkley, no, on your own arm of course. What, are you a moron? How would it work if it was anyone's arm.

If you're shy, do it above the shirt sleeve. It really doesn't hurt much at all.

In two years, we can review your posts and maybe we'll tell you about the secret Fanatic's society's burn mark. It's a thorough induction process, but if you behave, maybe you'll get in.

So far, it's just me and this female fanatic in Montana.

Hey you never know, until you try, right? Perhaps the bmw gods will be satisfied anyways, especially if the arm in question drives a Merc or Audi perhaps?

Lol. Well, after looking online and calling around I have decided to be content with my sound the way it is. I do not need subs and quite Franky, the music I listen to is not rap or hip hop, so is there really a point? Haha.

Good man.

The stock sound is good the way it is. Apparently BSW is working on an upgraded amp... but they've been talking about it for years.

Ya and wow, just went out to the store, and noticed, my front right speaker is rattling. So, my new job for the day, go buy one and replace it!
