Nice thanks for the heads up! I had no idea!

PS - Random noob question [and may not be in the right section but]... why do people say "bump" after certain posts?

I wouldn't be so quick to judge the owner.

Probably just some kid who bought it this way and probably thought nothing of the tamper dot..

People say "Bump" to literally, Bump posts to the top of the page, like hot topics, where active conversations are happening, like usually, people bump something that they like.

Fairly older man, says he has 3 other cars with the tamper dot, and was constantly arguing that this is just a dot, and this is the original mileage. I WOULD buy the interior from him though.

He was arguing that it wasn't a tamper dot?

haha, soon roof.

But really - chances are he had no idea of the tamper dot and what it meant, shouldn't be so quick to judge.

Well, you are wrong. The only non-prefacelift models (US) are: 323, 328, m3.

What do you mean non preface lift?
Its either facelift, or preface lift

I had an '01 325i pre facelift.

Technically what you call a "non pre facelift", is a facelift, because its either face lift or preface lift, pre meaning "before"

I mean the only models, which never get facelift: 323, 328 and m3. All other existed in both forms: pre- and post-facelifted.

I had no idea of a tamper dot on the odometer. That's good too know though for my future e46 purchasing endeavors
