SB281 Passes in MD- Firearm Ban Bill

Sad day in maryland :tsk :

Well the senate just passed the bill, just waiting on our ****tard mayor to sign it, which since it's his bill he will obviously enjoy raping our constitutional rights.

Once the final reading of the bill is posted online ill link it in the thread. but they banned a lot of crap.

Such a ridiculous bill. Even some of the proponents acknowledge that it isn't what they want but they need to pass something so why not this.... wtf!

Thanks so much for posting this. As soon as I read the thread and the Washington Post news story, I ran out to a new gun shop (new to me that is) to see what they had in stock. Low and behold they just got in 3 new AKs. Two from Bulgaria that were really nice and one from Saiga (Russia that is). Ended up buying the Saiga.

Oh but there's more to the story.....NBC News was there doing a story with Chris Gordon (I think that's the reporters name) and asked me to be on camera twice. Once when I was just asking some questions and then when I was purchasing the Saiga. I declined both times as I was afraid I would shoot my mouth off about the crappy bill from hell. I called my wife right after I left and told her this is how much I love you, I declined to be on TV so I wouldn't make an ass out myself and embarrass you. She thanked me (hopefully it leads to sexy time ).

Unfortunately I will have to wait 30 to 45 days to get the gun due to the backlog. If I was buying another SCAR or an FN I could just walk right out of there, no waiting period. Makes f@#king sense.

Our state law denies any local govt from making any gun laws stricter than the state laws. Now they can personally fined too. lol.

"All those ordinances have been illegal for years because state law prevents cities and counties from regulating guns. But a new law, set to take effect Oct. 1, 2011 takes it a step further. It allows judgments of up to $100,000 against local governments that enforce such laws. And, in an unusual move, the law also says local officials could be fired and fined $5,000, with no representation from the city or county attorney."

Is there language in the bill to force registration of mags and newly defined "assault weapons" or become felon like CT?
