Waxing Questions For a Newb :)
Okay I'm bascially a newb in this area and I'm just wondering does the Meguiars 3 Step come in a package with everything or do I need to buy each part of it and if I do can someone tell me what each one is called? Second say you wash the car with dawn and strip the wax then what do you do first? polish it? or wax then polish etc? Which one comes first? Oh and can someone give me a link where they sell the 3 step
Or can I buy it from like pep boys or some other auto shop? Thanks Last edited by Agamemnon; 06-03-2002 at 10:26 PM. |

I saw that 1-2-3 setup at both Pep Boys and Autozone.

this is what i would do, dawn wash it to strip eveything off, clay the car to make it glass smooth, wash it again , i use klasse AIO to clean it again it will put a layer of sealent on it then use the sealent oni t and it will give you protection for up to 6 months.

Do you need to clay the car even if it's brand new? What I was thinking is Dawn wash to strip wax off then use the 1-2-3 step. Would that work as a easy and good solution? Also pat I can't understand what your trying to say! I've got one more question will the 3 step from Meguiars take care of swirl marks and fine scratches when going threw the 3 step process?

Use Meguiars Scratch X to remove swirls and small scratches.
You use it before the 3 step. I bought my Meguiars Kit from their website. They keep sending me free stuff now |

no you dont need to clay your car if its brand new, i forgot to take that into consideration.. the meguiars stuff is good but not as good as somthing like Klasse in terms of protection against UV rays and enviromental pollutants. I'm in florida and its way too hot down here to use wax. It will be gone in 2 weeks if that.. and i dont have time to wax it all the time so i use a sealent as an alternative to a wax.

So do you was the car frist use the swirl remover then start on the 3 step program? What else would u guys recommend besides the 3 step thats pretty easy to do? Also for a sealent what are the steps? Do you strip the wax off then just apply the sealant? Or do you wax then seal? or Seal then wax ? And where is the 3 step located on Meguiars site? I goto www.Meguiars.com and click on products but it just lists everything they have and no 3 step package?? One more questions
What kinda towels should you use to apply the stuff? Micro fine?? Terry etc?? Btw the color of the car is Titanium Silver does the color matter on the product choices?? And one last thing I know I said this alot but lets say you finish everything up and it's ready to go and then say 2 weeks later you want to wash the car but don't want to rewax what do you was it with just regular water or is there a product that you can use that won't strip the wax? Thanks Last edited by Agamemnon; 06-03-2002 at 10:52 PM. |

You have to buy each step individually.
1)Cleaner 2)Polish 3)Wax Theres different types for each, Fill out their free paint perscription online and they'll recommend the best product for your car and how often to take care of it. Also for tips.. try http://www.carcareonline.com/ |
