will one in the trunk with an amp like JL500/1 be clean & loud?

or should i go with 2 subs?

need at least two if not bridge. i had a pair before with ski-pass. it sounded great, but 6 months later, one sub blew up and left with only one. it didn't sound like there's enough bass with only one. trust me, go with a pair and you won't regret.

without a ski pass, it doesn't sound that good. it's pretty much like talking with your mouth shut. i think the more bass there's, the more air it will require to travel into the trunk. that's only if you want to have a nice and clean bass.

don't worry, there's a trick. you can remove your rear deck speakers so that there are 2 openings for air to travel in. i have done this before and it helped a lot.

will removing the HK sub provide an area for the bass to port through?

I have a 10w7 in a ported box powered by a JL 500/1 and I removed the rear deck subs to let the bass in and it sounds fine.

get 1 w7 and 500/1 amp and youll be the s h i t on ure block
