part # confirmation

Can anyone confirm that part # 54218265462 is for the small clips/covers that cover the holes when removing the hard top from the car? The ones where the hard top install kit are in? I need a set of black ones.

Thanks,

I don't think that is the right part #. It would be part of the vehicle trim not the hard top.
Hard to tell from parts fiche. Tell the dealer what you want and have them order it. http://www.penskeparts.com/DiagramsM...7&rnd=03192010

Have you checked inside the rear flaps of the hard top where the clamps are? There is a slot on each side where small covers slide in for storage while the hard top is on the car.

Many manufacturers seem to make changes like this to cut costs. I'd like to think in this case that BMW learned the problems of the earlier version and came up with a better design.

So in the mail today I received a package from the dealer I bought the car from. 3 months later he decided to send me the missing caps! And I was just thinking about ordering them earlier today!

Thanks again guys
