I've been in the area for over 10 years. Seems like the biggest boom in the local market has taken place in the last 5.

Renovated bungalows in the immediate area that were going for like $400-$500K are now closer to $800-$1M.

Oh, ok then. I would have said it's been a boom for about the past five decades.

Not much new has happened that I've seen in at least the past ten years, though. It's still the same old bustling extension of DC that it has been.

Wow those are insane prices for small houses!!

I couldnt even find homes for sale in my area for around 1 mil, all those properties are big commercial lots.

Biggest was about 2-300k and thats a couple hundred acres with a big 4bed 4bath house with shop and garages.

My Ride: E39 M5...sold!
My parents bought a brand-new 5-bedroom villa here in Dubai in 2003-2004 for about $400,000. Today, it is worth about $2,000,000.

Looks something like this:

Some of the houses posted completely suck for $1M. I realize the location is different, but dang...no way I'd want to blow that kinda cash on a house that sucks.
