2005 m3 - sold

The time has come to look for a new toy. This has been an amazing car - tons of fun to drive, receives lots of attention, and very little maintenance costs.

28 DETAILED PICTURES HERE: https://picasaweb.google.com/1102761...eat=directlink
2005 Silver Gray over Imola Red Manual Transmission M3 (VIN: WBSBL93445PN62364)
79k miles (city/highway combo)
Purchased from Enthusiast Auto in OH - May 2011 with 61k miles on it
Car originally from FL
I have performed all maintenance on it since I've taken ownership (oil/filter/sensor changes, brake pads/rotors - easy stuff).

FL work performed at:

South Motors of Miami
(305) 256-2200

Lauderdale BMW
(954) 620-5050

Vista BMW of Miami
(954) 935-2700

Vista's computer system purges all information after 2 years, so the paid service records are no longer available for this vehicle.

A complete record of warranty work performed on this vehicle is available for pick-up at local BMW dealership.

Some warranty repairs performed include:

Interior mirror with compass
Cup Holder
Carphone Update
Evaporator replacement on 12/3/08
Clutch replacement on 10/16/08
1200 mile service @ 1900 miles
Inspection I @ 25k on 11/21/06
Inspection II @ 48k on 10/14/08
New alternator belt

Services performed by Enthusiast Auto Group in OH @ 61k miles:

New wiper blades
Polyurethane upgrade for rear trailing arm bushings
New expansion tank and coolant temp sensor
Replaced drive belts
Replaced front ashtray trim
Replaced underbody cover panels
Replaced shifter boot
Alignment

Services performed since I've taken ownership on 5/28/11:

New Hankook Ventus tires on 6/3/11
New keys (2 master, 1 valet) ordered from BMW on 5/29/11
Clutch stop replaced 6/2/11
Smoked corners installed 6/2/11
Chrome gills installed 6/2/11
Angel eyes installed 6/2/11
Chrome kidney grills installed 6/5/11
Alarm beep DIY performed 6/9/11
OEM Auxilliary Input plug installed 6/12/11
Rear diffuser sanded and repainted at Checker Auto Body Repair on 6/14/11
Oil & Filter Change on 11/15/11
Headers removed to fix cracked weld causing exhaust leak. Welded and reinstalled on 3/17/12
Replaced front strut brace mount (right) on 3/26/12
New brake pads (Akebono ceramic) and rotors (Centric) installed on 3/27/12
New wiper blades on 7/20/12
New Cabin Air Filter on 8/14/12
Oil & Filter Change on 8/17/12 @ 76k
Oil Level Sensor replacement on 8/17/12

QUERKS

Volume knob will stop working if not used regularly. Normally I use the steering wheel controls so it's no big deal, but I have to make it a point to use the radio knob at least once per day to keep it "charged" (apparently a common issue)

Changing the a/c controls from 'auto' to 'manual' blows the water valve / ac fuse, causing hot air to blow from windshield and feet. Simply leave the a/c on all vents and it prevents the fuse from blowing. If fuse blows, replace it with another 7.5A fuse (#62 - Water Valve/AC)

Upcoming Maintenance

New Rear Tires
Deflection Pulley (Part #11287841228) $17 from Rocky Mountain European Auto Parts (RMEAP)
Mechanical Tensioner Pulley (Part #11281427252) $54 from RMEAP

Performance Mods

Active Autowerke ECU Tune
SuperSprint Headers
RaspX Midpipe
Short Shift Kit
H&R Sport Springs
K&N Air Filter

Paint is still glossy, deep & rich (handwashed and waxed regularly). 2 minor door dings, 1 dimesized scratch, some curb rash on wheels, touched-up rock chips in front. Steering wheel and shift knob show some wear. Rear seats are like new (only seen passengers twice) and front seats arent too far from new (reconditioned using Zainos). Engine runs very strong without any issues.

Please contact me if you have any additional questions or would like more detailed pictures.

Thanks!

Thanks; it's a beautiful and rare color combo - took me forever to find it when I was looking in 2011.

Tell me about it!

Beautiful car at a great price, didn't expect it to stay on the market for too long.

Wouldn't be surprised if EAG bought it back to make another $8k on it!

Haha! I actually contacted them to see if they wanted to buy it back and they said: "Thanks for thinking of us. We are really tight on money at the moment we just started Enthusiast Auto Body to bring all of our paint and body needs in-house. During this expansion, we have been really focusing our attention on lower mileage inventory." No go for my M

Thank you! It really is super clean. As you saw on M3forum, I was asking $23k and I let it go for $22k. I figured it would get lots of love, but I never imagined it would go within 24 hours, lol
