My Ride: 330 CI
Transmission problem ! Help needed!

Hi there I have 2001 330ci ! And my car is stuck on "limp mode " and when you check on the computer through ECU it gives error in 5th gear but the car is stuck on 3rd or 4th gear .what should I do ?

My Ride: 2003 325xi
First thing is remove the fill and drain plug of the transmission pan. Get Redline D4 ATF. You will need about 5 liters. Fill until the AFT run out of the fill hole while the car is on jacks.You will need a hand pump. I you want to remove the pan and replace the transmission filter you can do that as well. The transmission works on fluid pressure and your fluid in probably done.
In my preventative maintenance - changing out about4 liters of ATF each year I skip changing my filter.

I went to a transmission shop and I was told that the transmission selenoid needs to be changed . Idk if that's a good idea or not ?

Battery is on 90% level . Nothing's wrong with that
