It affects the performance of your car including torque, transmission shift points etc.

My solution: run the widest square set up one can.

So you want to stay as close or the same tire height your car was designed to work with. I'll be gunning for 2 sets of m3 front wheels and a set of Michelin tires in the 225/45/18 size. It should be a good combo. I'm just tired if the style 68 wheels.

So what's the widest wheel and tire you can run without rubbing? We can't get a taller tire, it'll affect the car. I love the torque I have now, wouldn't want to sacrifice it.

That's the wrong tire size for a non M. The sidewall should be a 40 not 45.

All I can say is my 195 wide winters tires suck major balls on wet ground. Even a left turn at normal speed would spin the tail out a bit.

Imola, my stock tires 225/45/17. What I'm wanting to do is gain better traction and handling. So having a wider wheel and tire is a must, that is without rolling fenders and what not.
