Cor 4 Piece wheel: Massive Wheel Failure

Not sure if anybody's seen this, pretty shocking, not to mention how quickly the company changed their warranty policy to include "Track Use" as warranty void.

To all our valued members, we would certainly like to address this matter in greater detail, as all stories have 2 sides and a greater portion of the story was left out. Unfortunately, since this is a pending legal matter, our counsel has asked that we not discuss this matter with anyone, much less in a public forum. We hope you understand and can respect this. Suffice it to say, this disgruntled client has elected to try and tarnish our image that has been built over many years of providing a high quality product and outstanding service.

We would be more than happy to entertain any questions concerning our product, fitments, and warranty however we would ask that it be done via PM, as anything directly related to this posting is not something we can/should address at this moment in time.

If i'm getting this right, you joined a forum off this post alone, regarding an issue that may not be limited to just that one wheel. Taking into account that it's already spread all over the web, keeping this off of a public forum is going to prove tough for you. I posted this in the track and motorsports section under the circumstance that this is a "Competition" wheel, and others may be running, or know others, running your product. I would want to be made aware if this were on my car immediately, as a preventative precaution.

So, Are these track wheels, or not?

and for further clarity on are HPDE's ok and or are autocross events ok, are track days ok with your Competition wheels? These should be simple Yes-no answers, not needing a lawyer.

your (Cor's) abrupt change in warranty needs to be explained better. You can comment on your warranty, right?

This is a disgusting post, and practice. You aren't standing behind your product. You are sending the dogs of law to rewrite your policies. Die quietly, my friend. Search on, several other companies with better manufacturing processes. That stand behind their product. Move on.

Track wheel or not, would you feel comfortable on the street with wheels that have failed like so? And depending on where you live, wheels may endure more stress / strain via street conditions than on track conditions. Definitely curious too see how this all pans out though.

Wow those wheels are junk!

Cor, what kind of Quality Assurance goes into a product like that, very little I'd guess. Your handling of this situation is atrocious!

lol wheels that don't stand up to an HPDE day when thousands of OEM wheels are just fine. rotas? fine. TSW? fine. random ebay replicas? fine.

What a shady company, I love how painting wheels without disassembly affects their rigidity lol

Reminds me of all the problems and scams ADV.1 had

+1 on the simple yes/no answers.

And to think I was about to drop some coin on a set of these.

I have never heard of COR wheels before this. Breaking and cracking can happen to almost any wheel when stressed but these look cheap. I have seen Kosei, Enkei and Rotas break like this COR wheel has. I dont know if painting effects rigidity but Powder coating or enamal based paint can hide cracks on a wheel.
