non-oem alarm install question

Have a question for you. As you have a non-OEM Alarm like me. I am just in the process of hooking my baby up. To get the lights to flash, etc. The light control wire from the alrm where should I splice this into on my BMW? do I need a relay? I was thinking of splicing into the hazard button.. Your help would be great.
