My Ride: 316ti es Compact
Spot the noob...

Hi.
I'm one of those who joins a forum when he needs something.... In return though I offer boundless wit and gushing appreciation.

I've had my beloved 316ti es compact from new in December 2003. It's been (touch veneer) an excellent car. Full BMW service history. I've looked after it.

Most of the time it's great. It nips along ok and is solidly built. It handles well and cruises nicely.

However, it jerks intermittently when I pull away from standstill. I can't put my finger on when... Cold, warm: it just does it randomly. It feels like its kangarooing. Like its about to stall. If I dip the clutch and build the revs, it starts to go again.

Does anyone know what it might be? Nothing is showing on diagnostics.

Any help greatly appreciated....!

My Ride: E46 325Ci
Jeeze I feel the same way. I have read the forums for YEARS but finally joined up now because I'm looking for parts to fix up the old reliable (E46 325Ci). I have actually experienced that and still can't get a real idea of what it is. Things I'm going to be fixing that I hope does the trick is the VANOS rebuild from Dr. Vanos. Other than that, the MAF might be going, but if you've run a diagnostics then thats prolly not it.
