No longer own an E46

Hey guys so the other day I was driving and pulled into a skid. Next thing I know, I'm pounding my passenger side into the curb and popping my tires.. The insurance just totaled my car. I hadn't made any mods yet but I was planning to... Sadly I am no longer an e46 owner now unless I can find another e46 in my area for the 7500 insurance gave me with low mileage(around 100-125k)

So much negative feedback.. lol. Cut the dude some slack, he's having a bad time

Buy a Honda.

In all seriousness, I'd actually like to know how this happened.. and you would probably be better off with a cheaper car now, at least 'till you can save up a little more and finance a nice e46!

I hate when my car throws itself into things through no fault of my own.

I was taking a turn while the entire place was just soaked in crazy rain... Started left turn from the stoplight... Tried to turn into left lane like the tell you in drivers Ed (bastards) and car skids... TCS didn't kick in (the three lights were on: TCS abs brake) and after avoiding nailing a car I nailed a curb

When you started to skid, did you turn more towards the direction you wanted to go or did you ease off the steering? It sounds like you experienced under-steer. I blame the American DOT for letting everyone drive with absolutely no knowledge.

I was turning left and when I felt the skid I started pulling right but did not pull far right enough

They don't teach us anything in drivers Ed that deals with skids.. It's like they're saying if u skid, just pray u don't kill someone

Most driving schools have several levels of driving classes. For the most part, everyone only takes the first course..., go on take the road test and for get about the school.
Driving schools call the 2nd course either "Advance" or "Deffensive" driving course...
Where they show real driving situations such as skidding...

Even BMW, has an advance driving course trailered to your particular area need... Snow, rain, etc...
You may consider that for the next car you get..., there is no better upgrade to a car, than the most important one.., the driver.

So many drivers look at that pedal on the left as an on/off switch, and on a rainy day like this, I hear all kinds of wheelspin at the stoplight on my corner.
The good news: You're okay and you didn't hurt anyone.
And you should think about investing a little of that insurance money into a serious driving school where you can learn how to steer and brake under any conditions.

I never turn off my Traction control guys.. Never ever. Just to emphasize that I wasn't being one of "those" drivers

Which pedal on the left? The car was an auto not stick.. And I always let the car off the brake and then after a second I GRADUALLY accelerate ... Never past 2.5 rpm anytime the car shifts

My driving school said that it doesn't matter if you take the defensive driving course. They said there was "no need"
