Free flasher to read/write full flash from MS43/MS42

Hi to All!
Just finished free app to read and write MS42/MS43 full flash in bootmode.
This is prealpha version and have bugs.
Please test and reply bugs

Daniel if you could use this to make an XDF for MS42 for the Euro 2 software, that would be awesome. I have a feeling that is the software that most people would have quick access to from previous attempts to flash to euro 2 and it already has rear o2 and air pump turned off.

Some later will be fast free datalogger with DS2 protocol (not slow ediabas engine) and wideband support (at real time).
Datalogger already work, and testing now.

I have never done the boot mode process to program the DME so can you elaborate on this process to comprehend the process and get a grasp of what exactly needs to be done.

When i purchased the Galletto 1260 it came with this adaoter. Is this what we use to connect the galletto to the DME for reading/flashing?

Here is a closeup of the 2 connectors. The white 2 pin connector has "L" and "K" pin identifiers and the black 2 pin connector, "+" and "-" which should be power and ground

If indeed we can use the above adapter to connect the galletto to the DME, how do we set this up?

Ok.
1.First of all, you need to remove ECU from car.
2.Turn off 4 torx bolts from case and extract mainboad.

3. Locate 104 boot pin

4. Short boot pin to GND
5. Put "+12V" and "-" to your black(2 pins) socket connected to galetto

6. Connect K-line from white(2pins) socket to ECU

7. Connect power to ECU


AFTER 6 Seconds(from power connected) remove wire beetwen 104pin and GND.
That's all. Ecu now in bootmode and you can "connect"

Two questions

I will only use the "K" line pin on the white connector (the L pin on the white connector is not used?) and pin 26 which is 12v power i connect to a direct 12v power source?

Pin 4/7 go to the black connector
Pin 32 K from white connector (L not used ?)
Pin 26- to direct 12v source?

1. L-line no need
2. 12V and GND is direct power source to black(2pin) and to ECU (4/7 and 26)

64kb is only calibration (tables and constants) read by galetto
512 is full flash memory read by JMGarageFlasher

For most people 64kb file is sufficient. If you are digging deeper you may need the full flash file. Lets say you want to use Softwareversion MS430056 which has no option to be flashed by WinKFP, you could flash it with the program from Anton and make later changes (tuning) by using Galletto/KWP2000+... and the 64kb file.

If one wants to reset the rolling ews code in the ecu or remove the flash limit, you need the 512kb file.

about what kind on flash limit are you taling about? i flashed 64kb file more than 10 times, is it bad?

Whats it exactly you want to me to take a look at? The Softwareversion which the xdf is working with? Full flash eu2 or just calibration file?

Programming with WinKFP and the aif active limits your ecu to 14 flashes. Flashing the calibration file is no problem

Well If you could get the xdf just working with the calibration file for euro 2 that would be probably all that guys running ms42 need to get up and running and tuning.
