Oil leak - need help and advice

Hi all,

I am new to the forum as an active user. How helpful it is! I hope, you can help me with the following:

1) There is an oil leak on the passengers side of the engine. Please see photos. Is it the famous oil filter housing gasket? Or something more severe...? No "mayonaise" under the top oil lid..

2) Following 1): The "engine failure" lamp is turning on and off on a regular basis. Could it be related to 1)? When it turns on, the idle gets a bit lumpy. Usually it turns on after having idled for more than app 30 seconds..

Welcome to the forum. It is VERY helpful! If you have a few tools, The DIY section will get you through many repairs and save you a lot of money. There are some people who will just give negative feedback, but overall most are helpful. It is just like life... Some people you like, others you don't. They have a Block list for them.

1 - Wrong side of the Engine for the OFHG. From the picture, It looks more like the Valve Cover Gasket. (VCG) Easier fix, but gasket is more than the OFHG.

2 - Engine failure light? Do you mean the Check engine light? Regional terminology difference? Any ways... Start with having the codes read. Then do a search here and you should get something. A lot of Google searches will refer you back to this forum.
Done:H&R Sport Springs Koni STR Shocks & Struts, Lower Control arms, FCABs, OFHG, CCV, Cooling Sytem refresh, Coolantsnitch. Yet to do:Transmission fluid & filter, VCG
