My Ride: BMW 320D, 2003
E46 navi-screen question.

Hi guys!

Recently got my very first BMW, and it drives like a dream (Getting swirl flaps removed by my friend this weekend and EGR valve disabled)! It's an E46 diesel, 2003, with the "big" navi screen (older navi software & firmware - need it updated somehow for Denmark/Europe maps).

My question is: I was wondering if theres any "hidden" tricks, to make the car show more details when I select "Computer" monitoring (instead of GPS)? - Like f.ex. temperatures when the car is running, instead of only fuel consumption and a few GPS details (on the right side of the screen)?

Bonus question: I know theres a lot of talk regarding the cooling system (I've been jumping back and forth on e46 fanatics and bimmerfest forum), and I've noticed the expansion tank, is still the original one from 2003. The condition looks quite good, from what I can tell, but should I just hurry up and get the entire system replaced anyway ? There's no water leaking (not like my old Peugeot 106, lol) and the temperature stays right where it should be .. some people mention a lifetime of 4 years, for the expansion tank?

I also think the turbo is the original one (271.000km), it whistles quietly on cold engine, but nothing when the engine is warm. The car pulls very nicely too. I'm driving motorway every day (140km) and always leaves the car idle for 30sec-1minute before turning off the engine. The former owner has also changed (Elf) oil every 10.000km (mechanic), so I guess the turbo is allright for now?

Anyway - enough talk for now. Hope someone wants to help me with the above questions
