There is a vast difference between muscular abs, and the abs on a skinny person.

....it does suck though when you're trying to thicken up everywhere.

Yeah, I heard that might be a problem when you are at sub-10% body fat like yourself

This is my average routine, I guess my bulking could be a bit better if I really set it out but realistically this is what I've been doing with my workouts/ (weights, light 4-5 miler on sunday)

In the morning I have 3 eggs, with some greek yogurt, and a protein shake. Then I'll get to work, snack a bit on some almonds, nuts, maybe a protein bar if I have any. Lunch time I'll have two turkey/pastrami/ham sandwiches, 2 bananas, some oranges, and 2 packs of oatmeal. Before dinner I'll have something light (maybe more greek yogurt, or a Peanut butter jelly sandwich) and dinner post gym something like either fish tacos, or some roasted chicken with a salad, or steak potatoes salad etc..protein shake post workout.
Some guidance would be appreciated as I'm totally new to this.

I think you are right, now that I think about it I do have the abs of a skinny person, they just show. I do crunches etc. but no weighted stuff. I should probably start.

Give my sticked thread a thorough read, and calculate your total daily energy expenditure. Someone like you who states "its impossible for me to gain weight" needs to both calculate their TDEE and give calorie counting a thorough effort for a few weeks, to give you an idea of how much you are eating. There were days when I was bulking (and needed 3000 calories) where I thought I was going to burst because I had ate so much, but when I added it all up I was only around 2250.

From what you wrote, it sounds like a lot of food in principle but even without specific quantity info, I know enough about calorie content that its not enough for your goals

And if you are serious, make a progress thread (Following the stickied rules) where all your diet / workout questions can be properly channeled. I guarantee you can "get some meat on those bones" with this forums help + dedication.

I'm trying to achieve a shape similar to this:

I already have thick abs, but I want a thicker oblique-into-lat profile. I honestly just feel too small.

gotcha. I am probably around a 32 or so. You are much bigger than me so I'm sure it looks pretty small. I don't think that's bad though.

I don't know that I'm that much bigger than you, I just think that our body composition is different.

I don't usually trust scales, but after seeing your pictures in your thread, I would say this is right on...

Why don't you just play to your strengths and compete in bodybuilding? If you put on some real size, you could get a Flex Wheeler-ish shape.

I think it's the lack of disciplined eating that keeps me from really going that route. I'm in the process of trying to clean up my diet now. If I can develop the ability to resist certain foods, I may do it.

I find it unnatural myself! But I understand the bodyfat levels they get to is just for right around contest time/during contest time.
