so I opened up the TV, and found two blown capacitors on the power supply board. Now to remove and replace.

unfortunately Mike, you're going to find once you replace those caps, that something else caused them to blow. try and trace down the leads leading up to the caps and see what caused them to blow. good luck, I love troubleshooting stuff like this!
