That Time of Year for Snow Tires
Hey E46Fanatics, its getting to be that time of year for snow/ice tires and I need to purchase a set for my 2003 330xi sport. On my '03 325 xi I use Continental Extreme Winter Contacts. I'm looking for input/experience with the following: Bridgestone Blizzak WS70s ( I used to run these on all my E30s), the Continental Extreme Winter Contacts (happy with them on my 325xi), or General Altimax Artic (by Tire Rack Reviews, the General rates higher in almost every category than the Blizzak and the Extreme WInter Contact). Want the best bang for my dollars and best performing winter tire since they are going on the car that my wife drives. Am not looking at Dunlops, Pirellis or Michelins.

Nokians are the best winter tires and last the longest too.

I'll second the Nokians - unstoppable in snowy conditions.

Very happy with the blizzak ws70's on mine. They did a fantastic job with that big Halloween snow we had here in Reading last year They are much less expensive then the nokians even tho they may be the best.

Blizzak WS70s always worked extremely well on my E30s and the Continental Extreme WInter Contacts worked well in that freak Halloween snow storm last year on my 325xi. Right now I'm torn between the Continentals and the General Altimax Artics (the tread pattern of the Nokians and the Contis is very similair.

^the construction of the nokians really sets them apart too. They are extremely high quality and are probably the cheapest per mile to run. The Hakka R's feel like all season tires in the dry too.
