Just get BMW Scanner by PA soft. Don't bother with DIS. Best $30-50 you will ever spend.

Would like to have some of the capabilities the dealer has, they just plug in a computer, scan the car then come back with a list of items, you should buy from them.
That is a great time saver and a great profit center.

There are several items on ebay, just trying to get feed back before I purchase, I already have TIS.

I used DIS for a while. While it's the "official" tool, it's also antiquated and finnicky.

If I looked at all the jobs I've done that needed to use a "BMW computer" on, PA Soft (about 30 bucks delivered) was enough for 99.9% of them.

For the rest you can get INPA for free, you just have to get a cable (less than 10 bucks).

if you insist on DIS, buy from this guy. he has a i click install and everything works flawlessly, but I recommend the pa soft/bmw scanner 1.4 as others mentioned because it does everything the DIS does and its so much better to use since it does not have install via vmware..

I am open to anything, whatever it's abbreviations.

Just trying to be informed before I make a purchase.
The first link for pa soft > $600

This does look interesting, have you bought it? or used it?

It looks like it does everything, that can be done, right?

Or it definitely has all the abbreviations in it.

INPA is a older version of BMW's software for reading fault codes from the various modules in the car. It works very well. It is my go to software for reading fault codes because it is so fast even on a Pentium II laptop. Just search for INPA EDIABAS on eBay. Typical price is $20-30.
