Anyone fixed THIS before??

The drivers side is fine...the "flap" looks like this:

But the passenger side broke at the bottom (plastic to metal d-ring):

I guess just rig it up, as I don't think replacing parts would really be cost effective.

Did the string or the plastic tab snap?

The string snapped on mine, got lucky and saw it like you did before closing the top otherwise you will rip the top. I removed the entire string, replaced with similar from a marine store, then glued the ends to the plastic flap and reinforced the plastic tabs with more glue.

This is a common failure, search and you'll find lots of info.

Yep, got some similar, heavy duty string, and on the ends, I used something like audio connector ends that made a similar metal clamp like the OEM part. I put the top half way down so you have slack to do the work, looked at the other side for reference, and just laced it up. Works great.
