Motul Gear oil 300 "75w-90" Manual Transmission / Differential Fluid?
i have redline 75w-90 in my Manual Transmission Differential gearbox but i want to switch it out because last time i check and did a little bit of drain all i saw was it was kind of watery so i just add more in. I have pentosin 75w-80 in my manual transmission, my local town doesn't carried pentosin 75w-90 so i have to special order it online if i want it. I don't want to put redline again into my differential gearbox, my local town carried redline, motul, mobile 1 and many other brand, so have anyone try "Motul" gear oil before? should i order pentosin 75w90 or try motul, here the link to motul gear oil

There is certainly nothing wrong with Motul, aside from the astronomical price. What is your aversion to Redline, out of curiousity?
FWIW, all of these "race" oils are overkill for a street car.

i put redline 75w-90 in and drove for about 3k miles, i drain the plug and the oil came out kind of gray and maybe kind of watery, i didn't bother to touch or feel it, when i put redline in my differential i think the oil color was yellow to orange, sometime it hard shifting to 1st, 2nd and 5th when changing gear sometime when the car is cold, so i just want to try something new to c if it help the problem, no dislike on redline or anything just wants to try other brand Last edited by brokensmile209; 11-06-2012 at 04:10 PM. |

Motorcycle people seem to love motul. they also love redline, so go figure. As long as its spec, I wouldnt worry about it.

I ran Motul Gear 300 for about 15,000 miles in my open diff.
Redline at 27,000 miles of use showed less wear even though I had a new Quaife LSD installed with the redline fluid. At almost twice the price, I will stay with Red Line. See the Oil Analysis here: http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums...93#Post1748579

Do you know that manual tranny oil and diff oil are two different products?
Use GL4 Redline MTL in the tranny and GL5 gear oil in the diff. |
