There are lots of options out there, but the top two in my book would be AFE, and Rogue - I had them both on my car, couldn't get any better than this:

aFe MACH Force XP Exhaust System BMW E46 325i/330i

Rogue Engineering IKON Exhaust BMW E46 3 Series

Hope that helps! PM/Email or call me for more info! 714.582.3330 extension 8002 - ask for Jurrian!

They sound the way I wanted, smooth, lower toned, like a sports sedan.
a nice growl with rapid acceleration, reassuring background hum when cruising, no rasp or drone.
it's not easy to say if performance is improved, I have no way to measure it, But it feel better. Economy is improoved (even though I might be using it harder) by about 6% on the 128. Not had time to evaluate the 2004 325Xi economy yet.

Yea It does thank you. I just want to see what types of mufflers people enjoy to have.

There's many examples on YouTube to listen to. Just search "E46 exhaust" and lose a few hours of your life listening to our cars with different systems.

Remember, very few manufactures will have full Cat-back systems for an XI. The pipe bend is different for our cars. Mufflers listed for 325i will fit dandy fine. We share the same muffler setup.

I have a full supersprint setup on my xi - headers on back, but I am not running cats. They could easily be welded in however.

Well i am not a welder but I was thinking more just changing everything slowly. Like first new exhaust then new headers.
