The book was meant to highlight the effects of this war from a Global and Individual perspective.

From the initial signs/outbreaks to the defeat of the plague itself.

In my opinion, the book was good because the stories were interconnected and the effects of one chapter could be felt in a different chapter by a different character from a different continent hence the title "World War Z".

I suppose the business of Holly Wood, insisted that they had a leading man, and turned it into an action movie.

Regardless, I have faith that this movie will be watchable.

That's how I'll approach it. It will probably be loosely based on the book but they couldn't just make another zombie movie so they had to attach the name to it.

Because they took a slower paced book about a whole bunch of different perspectives to the zombie outbreak, and turned it into a generic CGI zombie movie.

That flood of zombies just looks stupid.

Yeah, he's probably building a moneypit for all his cash right now.

Should be a cool movie, its a 100 million dollar film with Brad Pitt ffs. Those zombie physics look off though

yea they do. I have no idea what these zombies are like though. Were they faster than normal ones we know about?

Maybe these zombies have the power to transform into water? Because humans can't really bounce and flow like that

This movie looks pretty good however if the cgi is similar to I am Legend, the zombies are going to look fake.
Prefer they use real actors or better CGI than the cartoon looking zombies from I am legend.

still looks interesting - i'd go see it.

And aren't the zombies in the book slow? But super fast in this movie? Regardless of how faithful it is, that was a surprisingly exciting trailer. I actually tend to dislike Brad Pitt movies unless they also have another leading actor I like (say, Anthony Hopkins or Edward Norton). This one looks good though.

It looks like it could be full of 'splodey goodness, so even though it doesn't look anything like the book it could be entertaining.

Downloaded the book just now. Excited about the book. Not so much about the movie.

Read the book a long time ago. Movie definitely looks worth seeing for mindless entertainment

I dunno how you can survive zombies that move that fast.

Looks meh. Looks like a War of the Worlds and I Am Legend mash-up.

the book's been sitting on my iphone for over a year now and i never got around to it. think i might try reading it before the end of the year

The book is also hilarious in a very dry way. I'm not getting that vibe from the trailer.

It absolutely doable, District 9 was done that way with great success.
